I just installed Minecraft on a new computer and no matter how hard I try, I always get exit code 1.

I recently got a new computer and tried to install Minecraft on it. I downloaded the launcher and tried to launch the game, but it gave me exit code 1. I googled the exit code and tried for four hours to launch even just one version of Minecraft Java. I read many articles, downloaded different Java versions, got barely any sleep, and I have not come close to fixing this. I didn't have any mods downloaded when I tried to launch the game. When I try on version 1.8.9, it just says exit code 1. When I try with 1.18.2, it closes the launcher and says Java Exception. Sometimes, if I change the Java file in the launcher options, it will give me exit code -1.

 

Not even sure if this is a bug having to do with Minecraft, but I've looked everywhere for answers and am now just asking Mojang. Please help.
