Failed to create profile when name is not taken

I have Xbox game pass for PC and Minecraft java was included. the game pass for PC was purchased on the account I was trying to name. When I had typed in a name I liked and pressed confirm, It gave me the Failed to create profile error. there was a green checkmark by the name so I knew I was available. I read that the name may be taken in some forums, so I checked the name in NameMC and I saw that It was available. The name I was trying to use was NOT taken. I restarted the Minecraft launcher and checked for updates and it still doesn't work. I use windows 11 and it is up to date.
