launcher closes when i try to browse file system

when i try to access files with the browse option the launcher closes
How to reproduce:

Open Launcher
select Skins tab
Add new skin
Click browse
Launcher closes immediately without showing a dialog box. We have found no log files

this affects all browse buttons, as far as I can see
