Not able to start the launcher.

I tried downloading Minecraft on a mac for the first time. However when I try to launch Minecraft normally, it does not work. So I thought I might be able to launch it by the going using the launcher in Contents>MacOS>launcher, but it does not work. My guess is, that it is because of MacOS 12
