Failed to create profile First Time

I just purchased Minecraft Java to play with my daughter, I have it linked to my microsoft/xbox account, and when i click play, it asks me to enter a profile name so I enter my name and it shows me the green checkmark, i click confirm and it brings up a Failed to Create Profile in a red box on top right of screen and won't let me play.  I need this fixed, or I would like a refund for the game.
