Launcher does not launch

When downloading the Minecraft Launcher from the Microsoft store, running the program does nothing. It has no response at all. When downloading it directly from the Minecraft website, the installation is prompted and the install menu pops up and begins. It runs, says it has been installed and gives you the option to proceed. The launcher then disappears and nothing else happens. I have tried to uninstall and re-install the launchers from both places. I have restarted my PC several times. I have turned off my anti-virus protection and all other programs. I have verified my location and made sure the computer runs on the correct time and date. I have tried running the launcher as an administrator, I have tried clearing the cache, I have signed out of my Microsoft account and back in again to see if it prompted anything. I have tried troubleshooting the program to see if it was a faulty installation. Nothing has worked. The launcher simply refuses to start.
