BSOD occuring on default Java executable

When you run a version of Minecraft under 1.12 on the new launcher, the launcher just gives you a BSOD (Blue/Black Screen of Death). It also happened when I tried to run the 1.18 pre-release.

I was able to fix the issue by changing the Java executable location but still, this is a serious bug that needs to be fixed..
