System power cycling

Issue: System power cycles upon hitting "PLAY" for Minecraft: Java Edition 1.17.1. The progress bar gets about three quarters of the way through before an audio glitch (sound repeats loudly for 1-2 seconds). This is followed by a completely black screen, where my system then reboots.

I've tried resolving this by deleting the contents of .minecraft and have still had the same issue.

I'm going to try a few other things to fix this (such as uninstalling, deleting .minecraft, and reinstalling) and see how that goes. Bedrock Edition works fine when launched through the launcher.
