when i log in with my microsoft acount it closes the launcer

i downloaded the new minecraft launcher so i could play the new snapshots that i didnt get on the old launcher, when i installed the new one the old said i could delete it and i did but now whenever i use my microsoft login it just closes the launcer and since i deleted the old i cant play the game at all anymore
