Attempting to open Forge using the new Minecraft Launcher immediately crashes the game and never loads the Minecraft app

Upon trying to open the latest version of Forge 1.17.1, version 37.0.104, using the new Minecraft Launcher, it immediately crashes and won't load the game itself. I have tried using a different version of Forge 1.17.1, version 37.0.103, but it, too, crashed. Using another mod loader, Fabric 0.11.7-1.17.1, did not result in a crash. Loading an older version of Minecraft, 20w14infinite, does not crash the launcher either.

I am convinced that it has something to do with the new launcher. I would like some help on the matter. Any fixes would be much appreciated!

Nowhere in the Launcher Log is there any mention of Forge, so it is as good as useless. There was also no crash report that mentioned Forge either. Here is a 2-minute video showing the bug. It seems as the game never loads when using a Forge profile so no crash reports are made and the Launcher Log never updates when a Forge Profile is used. Note the time difference between my clock on the right-hand side of the screen and the time shown in the Launcher Log.
