Something went wrong with the login process

Just had a forced launcher upgrade that makes it so I can't log in.

When I start the minecraft launcher, I get a window with my account name. I click on that and I get a window with two options: Microsoft login or Mojang login. If I click on the microsoft login, I get a red box in the upper right corner that states:

"Something went wrong with the login process"  which goes away after a few seconds. That is all. Not able to log in, not able to get past that.

Had a similar problem in Sept 29 after a forced launcher upgrade. Was fixed then. Related to MCL-16269. See attached picture of screen.
