THe new minecraft unified laucher does not work

My old Minecraft Launcher tried to update up did not work so i deleted it and tried to re install it but because the new unified launcher came out it does not want to work on my windows laptop. I tried restarting and updating my laptop and even purchased the windows specific launcher all still did not work and now I've spent 27$ on a download that doesn't even work and I know its not my laptop because i even factory reset my laptop and the launcher still does not work.
