problem with the new launcher

hello,
i tried to download the new minecraft launcher. Problem is, i cannot log back into my account. The xbox app doesn't remember that i already have an account even tho i already migrated said account onto microsoft. I have tried to download the laucher from the website, microsoft store and the xbox app many times but i always ended up with a launcher that told me to either play the demo or buy the game. The only suspicion i have is that i deleted the old launcher while the new one was downloading but i don't see how that would impact my account. I don't know what to do and i really need help.
