Microsoft Launcher stopped working on macbook pro

My macbook pro has stopped logging into the launcher as of today, my children had been logged in then one stopped loading and now have error message - something went wrong with the login process. i have 2 playing on seperate machines and one can now not play or log on? i have tried numerous reinstalls and nothing is working. This has only just occured today as no issues previously 

please advise
