Stuck on Loading... when logging in with Mojang account

Very fresh install of Ubuntu 20 LTS, downloaded deb file from official website. Installed, tried to log in and... just "Loading..." forever until screensaver kicks in. Not cool.

Checked the console, checked the logs, didn't see anything suspicious.

Downgraded from JRE-11 to JRE-8, no dice.
