We cannot sign-in to Minecraft

We cannot sign-in to Minecraft.  We migrated our Mojang account on 9/3/21 and I've tried using our old sign-in password with this email and I've tried using this email with my Microsoft password.  I can sign into Minecraft.net which displays our profile information.
  We deleted the shortcut that was on our PC and reinstalled after the migration was complete.  I DID have a pre-existing Microsoft account which could be part of the problem?  The version on the Minecraft Launcher says it is 2.23965
