Launcher stuck at downloading/installing/launching

After downloading the minecraft-launcher package from the AUR, the launcher is downloading its files. Output of the command minecraft-launcher is as follows:

When the first link is logged, a window appears, telling me that it's updating the launcher, which is totally fine so far. After OK is logged, the window closes and the second link is logged, this time without a window opening up. The process doesn't exit and it just stays there.

I tried putting the deviceid of a friend into launcher_settings.json, which resulted into displaying the url 3 times and then crashing with the signal 11.
