Launcher not working properly

So i reinstalled minecraft(Had to reinstall Windows) and when it finished the update i see that my latest release and latest snapshot don't have any version numbers under them. When i press play it says Sorry, unable to start Minecraft. Please check your configuration. I went to installations and i don't see any releases and there is no button to add a installation
