Could not create the Java Virtual Machine 1.17.1

I tried starting up my Mine craft game today for the first time in a long time.  Just the vanilla version and I just got the update.  Nothing added. 

The version I am using is 1.17.1 which is the latest release.  This is where I was told to put in for a support ticket.  I don't see support on the Minecraft launch or anywhere.  In addition, I don't see the Affects that mattches the version I am using. 

However, I am getting the error.  Please see the attachment. 

In addition, I never had a problem opening minecraft with Norton.

 

It was working fine before.  Please fix.  I bought the original license before and I do not want to see all my saves go to waste after years of playing.
