I don't have a starting/ launching screen on minecraft java edition

I bought minecraft java and installed it on my computer but there isn't a launching screen to start playing and instead there is a message saying that I probably encountered a bug and to report it here. The launching screen for minecraft dungeon as well as the installations, skins and patch notes seems to be working.
