"bug encountered" after download and unable to open Minecraft

Hello, I just downloaded Minecraft to my Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 and Minecraft immediately told me, "bug encountered" and didn't allow it. How do I fix this? or is this something you fix? Thanks.
