Minecraft keeps crashing when i open it

almost every time i open minecraft i receive a message that the game has crashed, with the exit code of 0

I usually have to restart my computer, but even then it doesn't work sometimes. it always says there was an 'unexpected error' but nothing specific for me to fix. Sometimes i receive the error code immediately upon opening the minecraft launcher, but most of the time its after i hit play and the game attempts to start.
