"Could not create the java virtual machine" and Exit code 0

I tried to play the new version of minecraft (which is 1.17) and I just get a game crash and two errors saying "Could not create the java virtual machine" and Exit code 0. I DO have the correct (and latest) edition of java installed (and yes it is 64 bit like it's supposed to be). I also tried re-installing java 64 bit and it still had the same crashing problem with the same two messages. I also tried re-installing the latest minecraft launcher too and still the same problem.

Please help.
