Minecraft Launcher not Working - Mac

The version might be inaccurate, since I can't get into the launcher to check.

On my computer, opening Minecraft the first time works. The next day, I get an Invalid Session ID, so I try to open the launcher again. However, it doesn't respond (it doesn't bounce up and down).

Logging out and back in my computer usually resets this, so I can use this as a workaround sometimes.

Someone previously suggested this may be this bug, however I am on Mac.
