Minecraft game output not using full window

Whenever I launch Minecraft with "Open output log when Minecraft: Java Edition starts" enabled, the window appears but compresses the debug messages into the upper third of the interface.

In addition the text color of the first three columns is black instead of white and the alternating row fill color is missing.

I have tried restarting the game, launcher, and my computer however the issue has persisted.
