workDir switch does not work anymore

It seems that since version 887 of a Minecraft Launcher, the --workDir switch that is used to specify a custom working directory does not work anymore.

For example, on a fully updated Ubuntu 20.04, when downloading and installing the Minecraft package, then running:

minecraft-launcher --workDir=/home/asciiwolf/.minecrafttest

It crashes with:

It used to work fine before version 887. I have tried it now on multiple distros and there was the same issue on all of them.

I am including a full log as an attachment.
