Minecraft launcher would start but get stuck on the loading screen then crash

Every time I open up the Minecraft launcher to start the game, I end up with just the loading screen you get before you are able to play Minecraft. It's been going on for days and nothing works. I have tried to re-log in, reinstalling the Minecraft launcher, restarting and shutting down my pc. I also updated my pc. Nothing is working.
