Minecraft Launcher will not start

Minecraft was previously working on my laptop. Earlier today, I downloaded discord and now the Minecraft launcher will no longer open. I have since uninstalled discord as well as an antivirus software that was included on the incompatibility list. I have tried installing other versions of launcher. I have restarted my computer multiple times and uninstalled Minecraft multiple times. Please let me know what steps I should take.
