Minecraft hard locks me during the load process.

I attempt to play Minecraft, I load the launcher just fine, and I hit play. The game begins to load, but it hard locks the load process anywhere from a quarter to 3 quarters of the way through loading. I can still get into the game, but only if I go into task manager and shutdown the launcher that's running in the background. But if I don't do it fast enough, it locks my computer in the loading screen, and I am lucky if it crashes, otherwise, I have to restart my computer. It happens on all versions that I try and run. Including the snapshots.
