CANNOT OPEN LAUNCHER FOR JAVA EDITION

I tried to play minecraft and when I clicked on the launcher it did not open or respond. I have tried many diffrent things I have researched on the internet to fix the problem but none of them work. I need to get minecraft back on my computer
