Minecraft Laucnher Installations latest played no longer works.

Upon opening the launcher the installations is automatically set to the 'latest played version' for me it sets it to the snapshot version but this version I played a few weeks back and since then I have played other versions, but when ever I open the launcher it is set to the snapshot version I've turned off snapshot versions and when ever I re-open it, it is set back to the snapshot version ignoring the fact that I turned off snapshots.

(I also just got a launcher update and it hasn't changed it so if anything in the update was suppose to fix that issue, it hasn't)
