Minecraft custom skin not showing

so whenever I'm on the launcher and i choose my custom skin (Microsoft account) and i launch Minecraft on one of my worlds, my custom skin doesn't show it just shows Steve, so i thought my skin might have been glitched and i choose Alex default skin, and when I'm on Minecraft it still shows as steve any help?
