Launcher won't start - Blank Screen

When opening the Minecraft Launcher it goes to a full screen black/gray screen (see attached photo) and fails to load even the opening menu beyond that. It will sit there forever as a blank screen and has to be force closed.  

I am running the latest version of Windows 10 on a brand new computer. Installed the latest update, as of January 15th, AFTER it stopped working in hopes that would fix it. No go. 

 

Uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft. This did not solve the problem. Have also restarted the computer several times with no luck.
