I bought the game but i cant play it through the minecraft launcher

(the effects version/s part I didn't know what to up there to I picked a random one) I bought Minecraft java edition on the official Minecraft website and I go to download the launcher and play the game but it says Play Demo buy now like I never bought it in the first place I've tried 2 times and both didn't work. I'm tired of it and I want a refund at least because I've wasted my time yet again so if I could get a refund or at least a reason or explanation or a way to fix it or something.
