Minecraft Java Launcher not launching.

Recently purchased this game for my son. Have been unable to launch it, gets so far, then say's not responding. I have checked java, reinstalled it with latest version to no avail.

Checked online for a solution and have discovered that this is a common issue amongst your customers.

Please help.
