Minecraft Launcher stops responding

Pretty much I want to get to play Minecraft. I hop on the launcher and it brings me to two screens, one with the launcher in the background and another with the login. For some odd reason, the whole launcher just stops working. I cant type and I cant close out of it. When I went into task manager, the CPU just didnt work for that Minecraft Launcher. I dont know why since it works for everything else. Please help
