Launcher won't sign in to minecraft accounts

When I try to log in to my Minecraft account and type in my password, it comes up with an error exactly stating "Sorry! Make sure you are online and try again", even though I am clearly connected to the internet. No VPN is being used, no modem settings have been changed and it does this no matter what I am connected to.

 

You can see in the attached screenshot that I am clearly connected to the internet, yet it refuses to connect me to my own Minecraft account.
