Issue where the launcher says "No Connection", even when I have fast wifi,

This is a bug in the launcher itself where it will say "No Connection" in the top left corner, even when I have very fast wifi. Also, when this occurs and I try to play Minecraft anyways, it will not let me join any servers at all and a message shows up when trying to join a server that says "Failed to login: The authentication servers are currently down for maintenance."
