Minecraft app on android keeps crashing at microsoft login

I purchased the app last night for my daughter. I promised her for months I would get it for her. When we loaded the app everything works fine until you get the microsoft account login. When you press the button to log in it crashes. It says " minecraft keeps stopping." We were very dissatisfied.
