I changed my name in account settings and now I cannot log in to my desired servers.

I changed my name in account settings and I tried to login into my desired server through the launcher and it says I cannot login because I am not authorized through minecraft.net.  I made sure I was logged in and even uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher.  After reinstalling the launcher it still says my old username.  please help!!!!
