Unable to upload a new skin

Uploading a skin created on minecraftskins.com fails, with the error 'unable to save skin'

What I expected to happen was...:
New skin to be available for use

What actually happened was...:

I was given the error 'unable to save skin'

Steps to Reproduce:

1. I have created a skin on https://www.minecraftskins.com/skin-editor/ (attached)
2. I downloaded it as a png
3. I launched the loader
4. Clicked on Skins
5. Clicked Browse
6. Selected the skin
7. Clicked open
8. Clicked save and use
9. I was given the error 'unable to save skin'
