Launcher opens game but immediately crashes

This has been a reoccurring problem for me. The launcher opens, I click "Play" and it opens the game up as usual, and right as the loading bar is almost filled, it immediately freezes and does not load. This happens with every version of the game I have tried. I even tried using optifine and other clients but it still didn't work. In the past, I have tried all sorts of things to fix it and in the end, I have no idea how it ever returned to normal in the first place, but it is happening again now and I don't know what to do.

A temporary fix I use now is to go into my task manager and manually close the Minecraft launcher running in the background but the problem with that is that it causes some textures and skins to not load, particularly in multiplayer servers.

It would be great to get this resolved for me and for any others who have the same issue.
