Launcher not working

for some reason, i can't launch mine-craft properly. whenever i use the launcher, the game won't load until i go into task manager and end task the launcher. after i do that is seems to work but i can't create a new world or join a multiplayer server. ca someone help me resolve this as I've tried many methods online and none have worked
