Minecraft Launcher

I was suddenly kicked out of a server called Conspiracy Craft, which is run on Minecraft Java Edition 1.15.2, and had to troubleshoot the program. After I did, it started to ask me to let it make modifications to my computer and it no longer pulls up the normal launcher, but now it pulls up the Minecraft news. I want to continue to play on Conspiracy Craft, but I can't on 1.16.1. Is this something that can be fixed by me?
