Launcher crash

So I booted up minecraft after a few months, updated java and my video drivers as well as the launcher. i can log in and press the mode i want to play, i.e. single player and multiplayer. Every time it loads the terrain on multiplayer on solo it says java platform se binary has stopped working and says nothing else and gives me no crash report. i did have authenticator on my pc a while ago but i cant figure out how to delete it. Any help is appreciated.
