Launcher not connecting to the Internet or authenticating.

The Launcher continually says that it cannot connect to the Internet. I have reinstalled the Launcher twice but it hasn't done anything. Because of that It logged me out of my account. Both times it would not let me authenticate, saying that the account information is false. However, I had written down, letter for letter, both the username and password, and it would not authenticate. So, I tried using an alt generator. That didn't work either though it had worked last year before I bought the game.

What's going on?
