It doesn't open minecraft 1.8.9 without saying it crashes.

this happens whenever I try to use 1.8.9, which is a big issue when I want to use clients and play mineplex. I open minecraft launcher, and click the icon that says 1.8.9. I press play, and it takes a few seconds before a pop up minecraft page says "Error game crashed. An unexpected issue occurred and the game has crashed. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I click close and it takes me back to the minecraft launcher

 

 

ALSO IM NOT SURE WHAT THE "AFFECTS/VERSIONS" thing is asking so i just clicked a random one
