Minecraft will not fully load on 1.15.x and any older versions cannot load worlds

When I launch Minecraft 1.15.x (Java Edition) the game opens, starts loading the game, then stops loading. When I launch older versions, the game fully loads but new worlds cannot be created and it is impossible for me to play any worlds or multiplayer.
