MacOS Catalina Minecraft launcher can't launch minecraft versions 1.13 and below.

After having updated to macOS Catalina 10.15.4, the Minecraft native launcher is unable to launch any Minecraft version below 1.13. Ive fully deleted and reinstalled both Minecraft and java to no avail. When launched, any version below 1.13 will launch the java executable but nothing loads beyond that and the program must be force quit. There are two other cases open that have a similar issue but both were closed with no resolution. Please help if possible. Thank you.
