1.6.93 legacy launcher can't download newer versions due to switch away from S3

Some time ago mojang switched from S3 to their own distribution network.

Unfortunatley that means that all the people who are stuck with the 1.6.93 launcher can't play newer versions of Minecraft anymore.

This includes atm all players on macOS which use the Twitch Client, which requires a manual update to 1.6.93 as they still use 1.6.91.
